The purpose of this research work was to provide a description of the sense of belonging and commitment on the part of shareholding family members in family-owned businesses specialized in the road construction industry. The design of this research work is descriptive, non-experimental and cross-sectional in nature. First, company owners were interviewed in order to identify family-owned businesses. A questionnaire was then administered to 64 managers who were also board of director members at these companies. The findings demonstrate a stronger sense of belonging than commitment to their organizations. It can be concluded that these factors impact generational transition because shareholders who are also family members are part of the board of directors at these kinds of companies.
Las Tecnologías de la Información y la Comunicación (TIC) han transformado progresivamente la forma como se gestionan los recursos al interior de las organizaciones. La presente investigación tiene por objetivo general determinar el impacto que tiene el uso de las tecnologías de información y las comunicaciones; así como la gestión administrativa en una empresa de Consultoría ubicada en el sureste de México; teniendo en cuenta la percepción del personal administrativo de dicha institución. La metodología empleada en la investigación fue siguiendo el enfoque cuantitativo de tipo básico, de nivel descriptivo correlacional con un diseño no experimental, de corte transversal. Se aplicó a 15 colaboradores quienes fueron actores clave en la investigación. En este estudio la muestra fue el total de la población. Como técnica de recolección de datos se utilizó la encuesta a través de dos instrumentos con escala de Likert: a) Cuestionario de Tecnologías de la Información y b) el Cuestionario de Gestión Administrativa, ambos instrumentos elaborados por el investigador. Los resultados indican que el impacto de las TIC en la gestión administrativa de la organización es moderado, basado en las limitaciones actuales del flujo de información con los usuarios.
The construction sector is becoming more important every day in Mexico, due to population growth and its multiple needs for urban infrastructure, requiring for this purpose to have committed workers who allow the achievement of business objectives of development and growth. The objective of this research is to measure the degree of labor commitment of a construction company located in Mexico, with the purpose of influencing the improvement of the behavior of its personnel. First, a quantitative measurement was made and then the information was supplemented by qualitative interviews. A total of 30 workers that make up the company participate. The results indicate that the workers are moderately committed, because their participation and loyalty are not well defined. In addition, they have medium identification and belonging. Therefore, it is suggested to implement a strategic program for a culture of participation (empowerment), which includes greater initiative and autonomy for employees when sharing information and giving them greater control over their work performance, increasing trust, responsibility, and commitment to the company.
Most of the research on the development of Mexico shows us that the country has been regionally unbalanced and the trend points to a worsening of these imbalances in the future, so that facing this scenario are the state governments, educational entities, and the municipal governments, which must assume a position of proactive leadership that makes it possible to combat social problems in each of the regions. The Universidad Autónoma de Campeche (UAC), in response to the sanitary measures due to the COVID-19 confinement and in order to reinforce its educational programs through online courses, joined the "Coursera for Campus" (CfC) program. This research presents the results of a comparative analysis between the educational offer offered by CfC and its relationship with the educational programs of the UAC. The results of the educational programs are presented classified by Department of Higher Education. The area with the greatest impact is Business, with 42 courses related to 12 educational programs, and Health with 37 courses that impact 7 educational programs. CfC's Language Learning area impacts all educational programs, since all of them consider the learning of a second language. It is also worth mentioning the courses in the Social Sciences area, which benefited 24 educational programs, as they are related to some of their Learning Units.
