Feeding habits of Pterodoras granulosus (Valenciennes) (Pisces, Doradidae) in the lower Plata Basin. The feeding hiology of Rerodoras granulosus (armored catfish) was studied in an extensive area comprising two environments of diflerent characteristics, a typical lotie system, the Lower Parana River, and an environment transitional towards an estuarian system on the right margin o f the Rio de la Plata. The e u n a h a~c and hhardlv selective oraanism consumineveeetation and molluscs, whith littlc selectivity, its diet being doknaLd hy vegetation in the ~i w e r~a r a n i~i v e r a& molluscs on the right margin of the Rio dela Plata. T~E molluscs Corbicula {Zurninea and Lirnnoperna fortunei showed a high percentage of occurrence in all sampling sites. The eventual importance of tho feeding habits of P gra, arilosw on the population density of C. flurninea and L. f"rtunei is discussed.
