The nutritive values of ten varieties and four hybrids of sorghum grain and one variety of corn were compared in rat growth and digestion studies. Significant differences in nutritive value were observed between varieties. Nutritive value was negatively correlated with protein digestibility, indicating that digestible sorghum grain protein had an adverse effect on rat growth.
