This paper proposes a visualization application called 3D Panel Visualize for visualizing network traffic which helps network administrators to understand status of the traffic and detect anomalies in the network communications. Data are displayed on perpendicular panels divided into three parts in a three dimensional space. Relationships between data on different panels are represented as colored links connecting objects on those panels. A prototype application is created according to the design principle and evaluated by experimenters. The results show that the design approach is satisfactory, and it can help them detecting and understanding anomalies in the network traffic.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
