The existence and use of technology can be a means of maximizing the potential of students' thinking abilities, including the ability to solve problems. Learning that utilizes cellular technology that contains material in science-math stories be-comes one of the ways of utilizing technological developments in learning activi-ties. The study used a pretest-posttest control group design with more than one experimental group. There were two experimental groups from two schools that experienced learning with science-math stories based on digital learning as digital literacy media, and one control group from another school who carried out litera-cy activities using reading books in the class and the library. The use of science-math stories based on digital learning as a digital literacy media can improve problem-solving skills for elementary school students. The main content in the form of realistic fiction illustrated stories with adventure themes that raise envi-ronmental problems to be solved becomes the main strategy in improving the ability to solve the problems of elementary school students.
The purposes of these research are to find out: 1) student’s needs for digital literacy media to support the learning, and 2) the characteristics of digital literacy media which suitable for elementary school students. The research was conducted through a survey of respondents who were determined as a sample. The population of these research’s sample was students, teachers, and headteacher in several elementary schools at Yogyakarta city that randomly taken, which SDN Bangunrejo 1, SDN Blunyahrejo, and SDN Pingit. The methods used for data collection are interviews, observation, and needs scale. The collected data was analyzed by descriptive quantitatively by giving a percentage of the results. The results of the analysis can be seen that: 1) grade IV students at the elementary school level needs a digital literacy media to support the improvement of science and mathematics abilities, and 2) the digital literacy media that can be used are sciencemath story based on mobile learning with cartoon illustration and supporting with children’s songs. The development of this media is one of the efforts to maximize the schools’ literacy movement in enhancing students’ abilities. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui: 1) kebutuhan siswa terhadap media literasi digital sebagai penunjang pembelajaran, dan 2) karakteristik media literasi digital yang sesuai dengan siswa sekolah dasar. Penelitian dilakukan melalui survei kepada responden yang ditetapkan sebagai sampel. Populasi dari sampel penelitian ini adalah para siswa, guru dan kepala sekolah di SD Negeri Bangunrejo 1, SD Negeri Blunyahrejo dan SD Negeri Pingit. Metode yang digunakan untuk pengumpulan data yaitu wawancara, observasi dan skala kebutuhan. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif, dengan memberikan prosentase pada hasil. Dari hasil analisis dapat diketahui, bahwa: 1) siswa kelas IV tingkat sekolah dasar membutuhkan media literasi digital sebagai penunjang peningkatan kemampuan sains dan matematika, dan 2) media literasi digital yang dapat digunakan merupakan media cerita sainsmatika berbasis mobile learning dengan konten kartun ilustrasi dan lagu anak sebagai penunjang. Pengembangan cerita sainsmatika berbasis mobile learning sebagai media literasi digital menjadi salah satu upaya pemaksimalan penggunaan daya dukung sekolah pada pelaksanaan gerakan literasi dan peningkatan kemampuan siswa.
