SynopsisPermeation properties of 02, N,, and C02 were investigated by using copolymer membranes having the pyridine-lanthanide complexes group. The membranes of poly (4-vinylpyridine-co-nbutylmethacrylate) and its complexes with lanthanide were prepared. Complexation with lanthanide can be used to tailoring selectivity of C 0 2 / 0 2 . The C 0 2 permeability for pure copolymer is larger than O2 permeability, but CO, permeability is smaller than O2 permeability for lanthanide-polymer, which is opposite to most polymers. The upstream pressure dependence of gases in lanthanidepolymer varies with temperature. A tentative explanation is given for the results according to the free volume model.
ChemInform is a weekly Abstracting Service, delivering concise information at a glance that was extracted from about 100 leading journals. To access a ChemInform Abstract of an article which was published elsewhere, please select a “Full Text” option. The original article is trackable via the “References” option.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
