Environment pollution from mercury is very serious because of widespread use in many fields, and physiological characteristics change can reflect stress response of plant in many times. In the research various content of mercury added artificial into tea plant soil and then relative physiological traits were detected to discuss differential characteristics of tea plant to mercury stress. The results showed that in different Hg concentration stress chlorophyll content of YK and ZJ were decline, and MDA content of YK, FX and MH also express ascend situation, but their proline content were decline than ones of control. As a word, heavy metal Hg resistance of YK is lowest in five materials, but resistance of FX was higher than other materials.
An analysis of 170 simples acquired monthly from August 2011 to December 2012 in the closed waterbody suggests that the concentration of algae bloom (Cyanophyta) is dependent on the nutrient dynamics. Without the overlying of nitrate concentrations carried by the external algae bloom, the enclosed waterbody isolated by the flexible enclosure maintains a lower nitrate level. Algae bloom tends to dominate (TN: TP < 12) and to rare (TN: TP>12). Cyanophyta is dominant for the whole year.
Phosphorus leakage from phosphorus-enriched soils (PES) is a major cause of water degradation worldwide, and phytoextraction is known to be an effective method of remediation. However, it is unclear whether phytoextraction is equally efficient in mountainous regions. We investigated the potential of P accumulation of major plant species in the Lake Dianchi Watershed of Southwestern China. Most of the plants living in PES of this region have high P contents; some have been identified as P-hyperaccumulators, such as Polygonum pubescens, which has the highest leaf P content of 16.88 mg/g. Although the dominate species have relatively low P contents than the P-hyperaccumulators, they still have a higher P uptake potential due to their greater biomass, for example, the P uptake potentials of Alnus nepalensis, Coriaria nepalensis, and Erianthus rufipilus are 46.98, 16.91, and 22.78 kg/ha, respectively. While these plants can decrease the total P of rhizospheric soil and topsoil, the effects on the total P-pool was not significant. Our results suggest that just phytoextraction may be less efficient in remediating PES in mountainous regions, and it requires further studies about P cycling and native plants to design more effective measures for P immobilization.
Vat dark blue BO simulated wastewater was treated by Dissovled air flolation (DAF), the interaction of sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) and precipitate in the DAF process was investigated by thermodynamic methods. The adsorption isotherms of SDS on precipitate at pH 5.00 were determined at 30,35,40 and 45°C. The isosteric heat of sorption was calculated by the Clausius-Clapeyron equation. The results show that the isotherm of SDS on coagulation precipitate is not the normal style, the adsorption of SDS on precipitate is exothermic in nature and the isosteric heat of adsorption decreases with a increase in the equilibrium uptake of SDS on precipitate. The isosteric heat of sorption varies between-16.266 and-21.719kJ/mol as surface loading is between 3 and 11 mg/g. The values of isosteric heat of adsorption proves the primary adsorption of SDS on precipitation is physisorption.
This study focus on the influence of acid rain, single and combined contamination of La and Ce, rare earth leachate of tailings on urease and catalase activities with the methods of leaching experiment and indoor thermostatic incubation. The results indicated that acid rain and rare earth contamination caused the change of soil enzyme activities. The change of urease activity accorded with hormesis effect of rare earth; at the preliminary stage of incubation, urease activity began to heighten and reached maximum value at 10th day; after being incubated for 15 days, urease activity initiated to reduce remarkably, and continued to 30th day. Accordingly, catalase activity was inhibited, then promoted slightly, the minimum value appeared in different time incubated by different solution: 15th day (La, Ce), 10th day(La + Ce), 5th day (rare earth leachate).
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
