The Kansas State Digital Libraries Program gave Kansas State catalogers the opportunity to play an integral role in the university's digital initiative. The project enabled catalogers to display their expertise in organizing information and expertise in metadata. Catalogers were asked to provide descriptive data for the materials that were digitized for the Digital Libraries Program. Involvement in digital projects brings catalogers out of the library and into working relationships with faculty, administrators, and staff on campus. These new relationships could bring about organizational change as involvement in digital initiatives continues.
