Base-Catalyzed Autoxidation of 20-Hydroxyecdysone: Synthesis of Calonysterone and 9,20-Dihydroxyecdysone.-Stirring a basic solution of 20-hydroxyecdysone (I) under the conditions shown results in autoxidation to yield the title compounds ( II) and (III).
