This paper provides a photo-polymerisation induced phase separation (PIPS) method for fabricating a bi-stable cholesteric liquid crystal display. We combine inkjet printing technology and phase separation method producing single substrate side-by-side color cholesteric liquid crystal displays by sequential ink-jet printing for each color liquid crystals. The display exhibits an area-colourful image with low switching voltages and can be realized on a large scale and roll-to-roll (R2R) fabrication in the future.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
