T HE purpose of this paper is to evaluate and place in perspective a research technique-linear programming or activity analysis. The areas of application in farm management analysis have only been skirted in the relatively short period of time that has passed since the initial applications to economic problems."The subject of this paper suggests four major objectives: 1. To compare linear programming with marginal analysis and the familiar budgetary procedures as to concept and assumption, 2.
