We investigated molecular chain conformation effect in polyfluorenes (PFO) according to film preparation conditions. By using solvent vapor annealing and introducing anisotropic alignment interface, the molecular conformation of the β phase could be effectively enhanced. The electroluminescence properties of the alterative current driven PLED with the β phase-enhanced PFO layer exhibited improved color purity for blue, polarized light emission, and more reliable light-emitting operation owing to the ordered and coplanar molecular chain conformation effects.
Background
The restoration of the functional ability of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) using epigenetic modification is very promising for patients with weak osteogenesis ability. This study focused on the acceleration of osteogenesis from MSCs using microRNA (miRNA)2861 and a cell-penetrating peptide (CPP), LK.
Methods
We performed MSCs penetration test of complex between the LK peptides and miRNA 2861. Three different experiments were performed to investigate the effects of miRNA 2861 on osteogenic differentiation in MSCs: 1) intensity of alizarin red staining, which reflects the status of mineralization by osteoblasts; 2) gene expression related to osteoblast differentiation; and 3) confirmation of corresponding protein translation for comparison with RNA expression levels.
Results
We found that cLK effectively delivered miRNA 2861 into the cytoplasm of human MSCs and accelerated osteogenic differentiation from MSCs, as well as mineralization.
Conclusion
The complex of miRNA 2861 with LK may have a positive effect on the osteogenic differentiation from MSCs and mineralization. Therapies using miRNAs combined with LK may be good candidates for the augmentation of osteogenesis in patients.
We propose an alternating current (AC) field operation scheme by using an asymmetric voltage waveform to improve the electroluminescence property of AC field-induced electroluminescence (AC-FIEL) devices. Hole injection and transport can be improved by carbon nanotubes (CNT) doping into the emission layer of an AC-FIEL structure operated by a single electrode for AC-responsive alternating carrier injections. However, under an AC operation, highly unbalanced charge transports are inevitably present in CNT-doped AC-FIEL devices due to faster carrier paths through CNTs. Compared with symmetric waveform, asymmetric waveform can be adjusted to allow longer relative duty time for faster carriers in which the luminance level of CNT-doped AC-FIEL devices can be improved by 1.4 times at the same device structure and operation frequency condition.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
