Recently the 4-dimensional Gauss-Bonnet (GB) theory has been extended by introducing a new parameter of the form αD-4 where α is a nonzero real parameter. The idea also has been extended to higher-order pure Lovelock theory by rescaling the parameter in a similar manner. In a particular third-order Lovelock spacetime we investigate particle confinement, the absence of flat rotation curves, and the possible collision of null sources that gives rise locally to such a static spacetime.
At certain time the Nariai spacetime is split into two parts. The resulting cosmology consists of the original Nariai and a new component with topology $(flat)_2\times S^2$, that is equivalent to a cloud of strings. We explore the properties of our hybrid cosmological model.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
