This paper i s concerned with the use of Voronoi constellations for vector quantization of stat i o n a r y and nonstationary Gaussian sources. First, stationary Gaussian sources are t r e a t e d . The meansquared error (mse) criterion is used as the distort i o n measure and a p p r o x i m a t i o n s for the granular and the overload mse are derived. Then, nonstationary Gaussian sources are introduced. A new technique for quantization using a weighted metric and a high-diversity Voronoi constellation as the codebook is presented. Each part p r o v i d e s s i m u l a t i o n results for Voronoi constellations based on 0 4 , and h16.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
