SYNOPSISThe grafting of the cellulose with vinyl monomers in the absence of the radical initiators was studied. The nature of the grafting medium and of the promoters was varied. The obtained copolymers have been investigated by chemical and physicalchemical methods.
A new monomer, 4,5-dihydro-2-[2-(9-anthryl)ethyl]-1,3-OXa~Ok (5) was synthesized and polymerized by cationic ring-opening isomerization. The polymerization was carried out in bulk or in solution, using methyl tosylate, ethylene ditosylate and a-tosyl-w-tosyloxypoly(oxyethylene) [poly(ethylene oxide)ditosylate] as initiators. The polymers were characterized by IR, I H NMR and UV spectroscopy.
SUMMARY:The mechano-chemical degradation of macromolecular products of polyester type is accompanied by the formation of new carboxylic groups, capable of reacting with suitable condensing agents. According to this principle, poly(ethyleneterephtha1ate) is degraded by vibration-grinding and the fragments are polycondensed with aliphatic and aromatic diamines. The products of polycondensation containing atoms with free electron pairs (0, N) are capable of complexing with various metals. By carrying out the reaction in the presence of crystalline metal salts (ferric chloride, manganese chloride, manganese acetate) under the same conditions, polychelates are obtained. The composition of these products depends on the duration of grinding, the ratio of reagents and the anion of the metal salt. These polycondensation products, particularly the polychelates, are thermostable and show magnetic properties as well as the properties of a semiconductor.
SYNOPSISThe grafting on rayon fiber of acrylic and methacrylic monomers was studied through the decomposition of the hydroperoxide and peroxide groups, created in a process of ozonization. "he graft copolymers was characterized by chemical analysis, infrared spectroscopy, and themooxidative decomposition. FIG. 1.
