Computer over the years has grown from single user to multi-user systems and then presently to distributed system, implying that computing resources can be distributed to different host and can be access by multiple users. This scenario is required for horizontally scaling of systems’ requirement against vertical scaling now known as distributed systems, which cannot be improved beyond certain threshold. Security in such a heterogeneous system becomes a paramount issue of concern. This paper looks at distributed system, while highlighting the security challenges inherent in such system and reviewing the various progress in providing solution to the security challenges.
Robot design and development is a complex process and require critical analysis to be conducted before the actual implementation. Modern engineering application requires virtual models to be developed and simulated before the actual implementation is carried out. Maplesim has been identified as a tool that can be used for this purpose and has been used in this paper to demonstrate the development of 3-Link robotic manipulator. Design parameters were randomly selected and the symbolic tools in Maplesim were used to model the robot arm. Simulation of the model was done, while adjusting the values of the Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) controllers and the effect on the robot motion was visualized using graphs.
The development of the traditional infrastructure of any country would facilitate and enhance information society. However, inadequate infrastructural development, poor economic and social access, slow adoption of new technology and limited technical know-how are some dilemma plaguing ICT application and implementation in the Nigeria context. This paper therefore, is poised toward addressing these issues and proffering recommendations with the aim of supporting government efforts, increasing the efficiency of social service delivery and raising economic efficiency and cost reduction in ICT related mechanism. It is hoped that ICT applications and usage would lead to systemic growth, economic development, and the provision of socio-economic sustainability in Nigeria.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
