Glasses that are extremely difficult to crystallize are generally avoided in making glass-ceramics. It is now possible to crystallize such glasses epitaxially using isostructural seeds. The role of solid-state epitaxy in the crystallization of such albite (NaAISi,O,) glass to glass-ceramic was investigated. The glass was seeded with extremely fine Zr02 (nonisostructural) and albite (isostructural) seed crystals. X-ray diffraction results indicated that the albite-seeded glass, heat-treated at 1000°C for 100 h, epitaxially crystallized to albite, while the ZrOz and unseeded glasses did not crystallize in identical heat-treatment conditions. In addition, the albite-seeded glass, heat-treated at 905°C for 10 d, crystallized mostly to albite, whereas the ZrOa and unseeded glasses at the same conditions contained only a small amount (4 wt%) of nepheline (NaAISiOs). The microstructure of the epitaxially grown glass-ceramics showed that extremely fine crystals (-0.2 pm thickness) were formed around the seed. [
Supplier evaluation and selection is one of the most important components of supply chain, which influence the long term commitments and performance of the plant. Supplier selection is a complex multi-criteria problem which includes both qualitative and quantitative factors. In order to select the best suppliers it is essential to make a trade off between these tangible and intangible factors some of which may conflict. In this paper, an AHP-based supplier selection model is formulated and then applied to a real case study for a polyamide fiber plant in China. The use of the proposed model indicates that it can be applied to improve and assist decision making to resolve the supplier selection problem in choosing the optimal supplier combination.
Design and implementation of system of wireless-monitoring for goods train is based on ZigBee technology. The system is consisted of ZigBee monitoring nodes on-site and handheld display terminal. The JN5139 wireless microprocessor is used as the master controller for ZigBee monitoring nodes, which is produced by JENNIC Ltd. in Britain. ZigBee device nodes automatically form wireless sensor networks, and use door magnetic sensor circuit which has high sensitivity and fast response to monitor the status of the door. The alarm information about the status of the door will be transmitted to the handheld wireless terminal to display and alarm. RFID technology is useful in conditions that mobile and car numbers are arbitrarily setted for freight transport in the process of practical design. Furthermore, modular design is used to facilitate the maintenance of the system and improve the capabilities of real-time, reliability, stability and anti-jamming.
Computer assisted language learning provides the primary motive for the reform and development of English (as a second language) teaching. The present paper explores and compares the characteristics of traditional language teaching and computer assisted language learning and points out their advantages and shortcomings respectively. It comes to a conclusion that only by integrating those two teaching models in our language teaching can we cultivate fresh language talents that are skilled and useful in the development of our society.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
