This research aimed to improve the students’ speaking skill by using the sequence pictures. Classroom action research constituted the method used in this research which was conducted at SMK Negeri 1 Sei Kepayang, Asahan. The research data was obtained by conducting the research for the tenth grade students of SMK Negeri 1 Sei Kepayang which consists of 25 students. The data was analyzed as quantitative and qualitative. The quantitative result showed that there were 76% students who had better English for speaking after using the sequence pictures as the learning media in learning English. Meanwhile, the students’ motivation and interest for learning English was increasing. It was as the qualitative data. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of sequence pictures as the media learning in English subject was effective to increase the students’ speaking skill for the tenth grade students at SMK Negeri 1 Sei Kepayang, Asahan. It is suggested for the English teacher to use this media to improve the students’ speaking skill for English subject.
The objective of this research is to find out the effectiveness of using English songs in teaching pronunciation to elementary students with descriptive method. Descriptive method was taken from the description of the situation of the object based on the fact in the field. Meanwhile, the research design which was conducted in this research was classroom action research design by Miles and Hubermann (2010). Based on the research result and discussion, the use of English songs as the media in teaching pronunciation to the students in SD Bintang Pertiwi, the students' ability in pronouncing English words has improved significantly. Songs were used as media because the lyrics of the song were easy to memorize. Therefore, it is possible for the students to comprehend the words they have listened and pronounced. English songs are effective to use as media in teaching pronunciation to elementary students. There is a significant improvement of students' ability in pronouncing English words.
Laporan keuangan sangatlah penting bagi suatu perusahaan dan adanya kemajuan teknologi mempermudah perusahaan dalam menyusun laporan keuangan. Laporan keuangan memberikan informasi tentang kondisi perusahaan. Laporan keuangan yang disusun adalah laporan neraca, laba rugi, perubahan ekuitas pemilik, dan laporan arus kas. Dalam penyusunan laporan keuangan harus disusun sesuai dengan pedoman yang berlaku yaitu Standar Akuntansi Keuangan Entitas Tanpa Akuntabilitas Publik (SAK ETAP). Hal ini dapat memberikan informasi yang akurat kepada pemilik perusahaan tentang kondisi perusahaan. Perusahaan jasa JW Net belum melakukan penyusunan laporan keuangan sesuai dengan standar akuntansi yang berlaku di Indonesia. Untuk itu, Software Accurate Online dapat membantu perusahaan jasa JW Net dalam melakukan penyusunan laporan keuangan sesuai dengan standar akuntansi yang berlaku umum di Indonesia.
This research was aimed at finding out the degree of metacognitive strategies applied by English Department students of UNIMED in listening comprehension and the difficulties of application metacognitive strategies by English Department students of UNIMED in listening comprehension. The study was conducted to 28 students in fourth semester of English Department of UNIMED Medan. Since the study was a qualitative research, the data were analyzed qualitatively by means of observation, questionnaire, Think Aloud Protocols (TAP) and interview. The questions in questionnaire and interview were based on Chammot’s and O’Malley’s. As findings, the data analysis shows the degree of application metacognitive strategies. The students’ application is low since they only applied some parts of sub-categories in metacognitive strategies as their habit in doing their listening task. They often lose their concentration while they are listening to the speakers. They cannot write down the sentences that were uttered by the speakers and write down the unuttered ones. They cannot comprehend the listening well and it makes them feel worry, doubt, nervous and others negative feeling.
