Our hypothesis was disproved. We found substantial interreader disagreement and indications that the very nature of the measurement method produces a high rate of false-positive readings of stable tumors. Three-dimensional MR venography is often superior to 2D MR venography in the delineation of major cerebral venous structures in children. Most of the artifactual loss of vascular signal seen with the use of 2D MR venography occurred in nondominant transverse sinuses.
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE: Dynamic contrast-enhanced perfusion MR imaging has proved useful in determining whether a contrastenhancing lesion is secondary to recurrent glial tumor or is treatment-related. In this article, we explore the best method for dynamic contrast-enhanced data analysis.
