Quantum confinement effects on the first LO phonon mode in CdTe due to the roughness surface are studied using Raman spectroscopy. Our findings suggest that the sharper experimental Raman pick obtained with an excitation wavelength near the E0 transition of CdTe due the roughness surface can be explained by a confinement effect and that the right line wing of the experimental line shape for a smooth zone cannot be ascribed to the first LO and TO phonon CdTe
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
