HighlightsContralateral axillary lymph node metastases (CAMs) in patients with breast cancer are rare.CAMs should be considered as a regional manifestation, rather than systemic disease.The survival of CAM cannot be compared to a distant disease.Most patients receive locoregional and systemic treatment according to a curative approach.
