A case of tinea faciae caused by Trichophyton equinum affecting a 5-year-old boy is described. The boy had ridden a pony a month earlier and responded to a 6-week course of treatment with oral and topical terbinafine.
A sensitive extractivespectrophotometric method for the determination of potassium using dibenzo-I 8crown-6 and bromothymol blue as the counter ion is described. The absorbance was measured at 410 n m and the value of the molar absorptivity was 18 000 I mol-1 cm-1. A linear working range from 0.1 to 3.0 pg ml-1 of potassium was obtained and the relative standard deviation was 2.3%. Rubidium and ammonium ions gave the highest interference. The method was applied to the determination of potassium in fruits and beverages.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
