According to the Romanian Law no. 265/2006, which adopted the Governmental Decision no. 195/2005 on environmental protection, environmental agencies are responsible for air quality monitoring in Romania. Since Romania is now an EU Member State, such a plan is a must to enhance life quality, in order to meet the objectives of the National Strategy for Sustainable Development. Having regarded to this Strategy and the Kyoto Protocol signed in 1997, this paper provides the results from a study of ambiental air quality in Iasi City using data recorded by the Iasi City Environment Agency (based on daily air-quality reports from January 1, 2010 to April 31, 2011, issued by the National Environment Agency). Analyzing such data, we drew a set of guidelines to follow when drawing up an Air Quality Management Plan for Iasi City. The following air pollutants were measured and assessed: sulfur dioxide (SO 2), nitrogen oxides (NOx), carbon monoxide (CO), ozone (O 3), particulate (PM10 and PM2.5).
This study has an exploratory character, aiming to perform an analysis of the manner to approach the green marketing and the activity of selective collection of waste in Romania. The objectives of this study are indissolubly linked to the fact that currently, Romania does not develop a marketing strategy in terms of waste management. By processing data regarding the municipal waste situation from national and European level, we aim to provide a picture of the actual situation, based on which there can be designed a series of managing policies for this type of waste. The importance of the study that we submit to attention stems from the corroborated analysis of the information relating to waste collection in Romania and Europe but also from the SWOT analysis of the factual situation.
Sustainable development becomes a desiderate increasingly important, both for policy makers and for manufacturing companies. Behind this concept, however, there are a number of factors and strategies covering topics from the education of population from an ecological point of view and legislative stipulations designed to influence the management of all resources. In this context, strategies arising from the private greenmarketing are completing the coercive force of European legislation.
Background
Receiving a diagnosis of chronic rheumatic disease has a profound impact not only on patients, but also on their spouse (life partner). These might be affected because of fear and uncertainty of a life-long illness or by potential changes in role, quality of life, and financial threats in treatment costs and lost earnings. These changes can have a profound effect on quality of life for both parties and the long term prognostic of the rheumatic patient might be influenced.
Objectives
To identify the potential differences between the support offered by the life partner in the case of chronic rheumatic and shor acute diseases.
Methods
A structured questionnaire was developped and applied to 51 chronic rheumatic - long term -patients (LTP) and 37 patients suffering from short term (acute) illness (STP). The activities have been done during 2013 involving both outpatients and inpatients. SPSS 19 was the software used in this case.
Results
No major difference has been found between LTP and STP groups regarding age, sex ratio, level of education, access to health services and marital status. However LTPs receive less support from their life partners (p<0.05) in areas of: understandig of emotional problems, sharring the same emotional concerns, keeping the quality of intimate live, identification of new scientific information that might improve the managment of disease. On the other side the partners of LTPs are much more aware of the finaincial impact of their partner's disease.
Conclusions
Our study identified a pattern addopted by the life partiners in case of chronic rheumatic diseases (LTP) that is significantly diffrent for the one of life partners of short acute diseases patients (STP). This could be the first step in the development of a communication campaign amimed to raise the quality of support the life partners are ready to offer to chronic rheumatic patients with final results in the quality of life and long term prognosis.
