We performed an inventory of soybean NAC transcription factors, in which 101 NAC domain-containing proteins were annotated into 15 different subgroups, showing a clear relationship between structure and function. The six previously described GmNAC proteins (GmNAC1 to GmNAC6) were located in the nucleus and a transactivation assay in yeast confirmed that GmNAC2, GmNAC3, GmNAC4 and GmNAC5 function as transactivators. We also analyzed the expression of the six NAC genes in response to a variety of stress conditions. GmNAC2, GmNAC3 and GmNAC4 were strongly induced by osmotic stress. GmNAC3 and GmNAC4 were also induced by ABA, JA and salinity but differed in their response to cold. Consistent with an involvement in cell death programs, the transient expression of GmNAC1, GmNAC5 and GmNAC6 in tobacco leaves resulted in cell death and enhanced expression of senescence markers. Our results indicate that the described soybean NACs are functionally non-redundant transcription factors involved in response to abiotic stresses and in cell death events in soybean.
A s Perturbações do Comportamento e a Perturbação de Hiperactividade com Défice de Atenção (PHDA) constituem as formas mais comuns de psicopatologia na infância e na adolescência. Estas perturbações acarretam pesados encargos individuais e sociais, em termos humanos e económicos, podendo ser precursoras de perturbações muito incapacitantes na idade adulta. O seu tratamento é dificultado pela complexidade dos factores implicados na sua etiopatogenia, pelo elevado grau de disfuncionalidade das famílias envolvidas e pela escassez de recursos comunitários para implementar estratégias de intervenção eficazes. 1 PERTURBAÇÕES DISRUPTIVAS DO COMPORTAMENTO Definição Os critérios de diagnóstico das Perturbações Disruptivas do Comportamento encontram-se definidos nas classificações internacionais (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders [DSM-IV-TR] e International Classification of Diseases [ICD-10]). 2,3 Este grupo complexo de situações engloba as Perturbações de Oposição e as Perturbações do Comportamento propriamente ditas. De uma forma geral, as Perturbações de Oposição são caracterizadas por um padrão habitual de comportamento negativista, desobediente e desafiante em relação às figuras de autoridade. 2 As Perturbações do Comportamento caracterizam-se pela presença de padrões recorrentes e persistentes de: • Dificuldade de aceitação de regras; • Actos agressivos, desencadeados frequentemente por situações de frustração;
Schwannoma is a benign tumour that arises from Schwann cells of the peripheral nerve sheath, and is a common tumour of the head and neck. However, intraoral location is very uncommon (only 1% of all head and neck schwannomas).We report a rare case of lingual schwannoma in a 20-year-old male patient who presented with a small, slow-growing mass over the right lateral border of the tongue with 1 year of evolution and that became recently ulcerated. The patient underwent MRI examination and complete surgical excision. Histopathological and immunohistochemical examination confirmed the diagnosis.
Abstract. This study intends to develop a methodology for service life prediction of ETICS (External Thermal Insulation Composite System), based on the factor method. The methodology adopted is based on data collected during visual inspections of buildings under current conditions of occupation and exposure, contemplating the degradation mechanisms and the characteristics of ETICS. This research can also provide a suitable tool to aid the planning, implementation and rational use of building management systems in several ways, namely: i) improvement of the materials' performance, based on the optimization of maintenance actions, use of resources and maintenance costs; ii) selection of the best constructive solution, based on the knowledge of the evolution of degradation of ETICS, according to their characteristics; iii) analysis of the economic and environmental impacts of buildings during their life cycle, based on the knowledge of the number of replacements required during this period of time.
