Prognosis of phyllodes tumors is excellent. There are no convincing data to recommend any adjuvant treatment after surgery. Molecular characterization may well provide new clues to permit identification of active treatments for the rare poor prognosis cases.

Trabectedin administered as a 3-hour infusion at 1,300 microg/m(2) is a safe new drug with promising activity in relapsed ovarian cancer, showing a 43% objective response rate in patients with platinum-sensitive disease, which favorably compares with other salvage treatments and warrants additional development either alone or in combination.

Intravenous L19-TNF on day 1, 3, and 5 of a 3-weekly schedule was safe up to 13 μg/kg, but did not result in objective tumour responses. The maximally tolerated dose (MTD) was not reached, allowing for further dose escalation of L19-TNF possibly in combination with chemotherapy.
