Abstract-The time-and frequency-varying behavior of an indoor power-line network is the result of variable impedance loads connected to its termination points. In fact, any signal transmitted through such a communications network is subject to time-varying multipath fading. In this paper, an analytical calculation method is presented, which can be used to determine the multipath components of any point-to-point channel in the indoor power-line environment. The method calculates all transmission characteristics of the network and, therefore, it can be exploited in the process of designing proper transmission algorithms for optimizing system performance. The proposed method is applied to an example network to demonstrate its usefulness in explaining the network's time-dependent behavior and in estimating channel parameters, such as subchannel bandwidth, multipath delay spread, fading conditions, etc.
Abstract. We investigate how smart Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) solutions can be used for combating illegal logging and timber trade. We put together techniques from agile requirements engineering to propose a methodology for identifying user stories and associated risks and priorities and via a collaborative, participatory, single day workshop, named inception workshop. We present our findings from the first application of the method, with the active involvement of the relevant stakeholders, i.e technical and domain experts, which concluded in seven user stories.
Over the last few years all South-Eastern European (SEE) countries have started an effort that involves complete transition of telecom regulations, in order to comply with European Union rules. Towards this direction, the majority of the SEE governments have proceeded in the establishment of independent Regulative Authorities. In addition, a set of Telecommunications Acts was entered into force in all SEE countries, while the mobile market is fully liberalised. This paper presents an overview of the regulation and institutional telecommunications framework in the SEE region.
