SUMMARYA model describing the response of canopy net photosynthesis by isolated blocks and rows of chrysanthemum plants to incident light flux density is reported. The model combines a description of the light environment within an isolated array of plants with a description of the response of leaf net photosynthesis to light flux density. The leaf parameters in the model were estimated by analysis of data for the response of canopy net photosynthesis by a closed crop of chrysanthemum plants to incident light flux density at two carbon dioxide concentrations. These leaf parameter values were then used to simulate the response of canopy net photosynthesis to incident light flux density by an isolated block and double row of chrysanthemum plants. The simulated responses were found to be in close agreement with the measured responses.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
