The X-ray diffraction structural results of 23 ternary compounds, type M(II)(iminodiacetate-like)(hypoxanthine) [M = Co, Ni, Cu, or Zn], show that the iminodiacetate moiety conformation (mer-NO(2) or fac-NO(2)) is able to drive the M-hypoxanthine binding patterns displaying the M-N9 or M-N3 bond, cooperating with a N9-H···O intramolecular interaction, respectively.
Three new polyamine Ni(II) complexes, namely [Ni(trien)(phen)](BF 4 ) 2 1, [Ni(trien)(bipy)](ClO 4 ) 2 2 and [Ni(trien)(en)](ClO 4 ) 2 3 [trine = triethylenetetramine, phen = 1,10-phenanthroline, bipy = 2,2 0 -bipyridyl, en = ethylenediamine] have been synthesized and characterized by physicochemical and spectroscopic methods. Complexes 1 and 2 crystallize in monoclinic space group P21/c, and possess a distorted octahedral geometry. Significant hydrogen bonding interactions are found in both complexes.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
