Acute esophageal necrosis (AEN), commonly referred to as “black
esophagus”, is a rare clinical disease. Though AEN remains a rare cause
of upper gastrointestinal bleeding, it is a potentially life-threatening
condition. We present a case of AEN associated with diabetic
ketoacidosis.
