In order to form the necessary data base on platinum and platinum metals, certain tests were carried out on platinum samples of different purity of 99.5%, 99.9% and 99.99%. The degree of cold deformation, annealing temperature and chemical assays were tested as well as their impact on the mechanical properties of platinum. The Vickers hardness (HV) values were determined with different deformation degree, starting from annealing temperatures for platinum of different purity and tensile strength (Rm), flow limit (Rp0,2) and elongation (A) in the function of annealing temperatures and annealing time at a constant deformation degree
For the purpose of finding more advanced platinum catalyst manufacturing technologies and achieving a higher degree of ammonia oxidation, metallographic characterization has been done on the surface of catalyst gauzes and catalyst gripper gauzes made from platinum and palladium alloys. For the examined samples of gauzes as well as the cross section of the wires, a chemical analysis was provided. The purpose of this paper is the metallographic characterization of examined alloys carried out by way of electronic microscopic scanning, X-rays as well as chemical assays which contributed greatly to a better understanding of the surface deactivation, in other words a better consideration of structural changes occurring on the wire surface
The influence of Bi, as foreign metal atoms in anode copper, on kinetics and mechanism of anodic dissolution and cathodic deposition of copper in acidic sulfate solution was investigated using the galvanostatic single-pulse method. Results indicate that presence of Bi atoms in anode copper increases the exchange current density, as determined from the Tafel analysis of the electrode reaction, which is attributed to the increase of the crystal lattice parameter determined from XRD analysis of the electrode material
The Au-In-Sb system belongs to the group of potential candidates for new lead-free solder materials. Therefore, a lot of investigations concerning its phase diagram and thermodynamic, mechanical, physical characteristics are going on at the moment. Having in mind the significance of such materials application in electronics, it is also very important to study their electrochemical characteristics. In order to give such a characterization, the results of cyclic voltammetry measurements for some alloys in the Au-In-Sb system are presented in this paper
In order to increase the active surface of platinum catalysts for ammonia oxidation and on the basis of theoretic considerations and tests in industrial environment, we have finally decided on their specific design. Efficiency on the newly designed catalyst was checked in industrial circumstances. A comparative analysis of the total ammonia recovery coefficient between the mentioned new catalysts and previously applied platinum catalysts was carried out. All advantages of catalysts with increased active surfaces were confirmed and a new method of their manufacturing process was selected
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
