We reported a novel simplified synthetic procedure for the preparation of monosubstituted piperazine derivatives which can now be easily prepared in a one-pot-one-step way from a protonated piperazine with no need of introduction of a protecting group. Reactions, proceeding either at room or higher temperatures in common solvents, involve heterogeneous catalysis by metal ions supported on commercial polymeric resins. A general synthetic scheme was successfully applied to afford a wide range of monosubstituted piperazines. Furthermore, we picked up a set of piperazine derivatives and studied the possibilities of microwave acceleration of given synthetic reactions to make them even more efficient. Our research proceeded from a simple batch technique to the construction of a flow microwave reactor prototype and resulted in promising findings which are summarized and discussed in the article.
We report characterization data of novel graphene-like materials prepared by new cheap and environmentally friendly synthetic methods. FT-IR, Raman and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy and thermal and elemental analysis methods were used to describe features of novel graphene-like materials and obtained data were compared with the data of commercial standards. It was found that employment of gentle oxidizing agents supported by ultrasound action instead of harsh oxidizers and strongly acidic solutions provides a-few-layer graphene oxides with low-defect layers in high yields. Although keeping the same level of oxidation like commercial standards new products are more stable due to a lower damage of carbon layers. Obtained products can then be further modified to reduced graphene oxides or amine-modified derivatives. All of the characterization data are presented and discussed in the article.
Cyclic vinyl ketones (Figure 1) are potential precursors for the synthesis of esters ( Figure 2) or lactones (Figure 3), which can be used as a fragrance in the cosmetic industry, in the manufacture of soaps, detergents etc. The first step of the synthesis starting from vinyl ketones is addition of hydrogen cyanide to activated double carbon-carbon bond in the cyclic vinyl ketones.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
