Summary Purpose: Characterize the epidemiological profile, including demographic aspects, socioeconomic and anthropometric, of the aged patients registered at the HIPERDIA of the Family Heath Unit Radional II, in orrder to contribute for the establishment of appropriate proposals of prevention. Method: Epidemiological study is characterized by a descriptive research, observational and transversal, of quantitative character, whose pattern size was of 182 patients registered at the HIPERDIA, being used, for the data collection, a semi-structured questionnaire. Results: Of the 182 aged studied, 116 owned only HAS, 12 only DIA and 54 HAS and DIA associated. The most prevalence ocurred on the female sex (71.43%), on the age group of 66 to 70 years old (25.27%), on the brown race (64.28%) and on persons of income between 2 and 4 minimum wage (53.30%) and incomplete elementary educacion (75.82%). It was verified that 68,68% of the aged were overwheighted, 72.53% did not practice any physical activity, 77.47% had pathological abdominal circunference and 73.53% of the hypertensive had high arterial pressure (Sistolic PA > 139 mmHg or Diastolic PA > 89mmHg). Final considerations: The execution of this study enabled a larger knowledge of the aged patients profile registered at the HIPERDIA, what is fundamental for the strenghening of the prevetion measures of this damages.
