West Nile virus (WNV) is a mosquito-borne zoonotic agent belonging to the genus Flavivirus, family Flaviviridae (Angenvoort, Brault, Bowen, & Groschup, 2013). Mosquitoes are the vectors and birds are the main reservoir.
