The current work focused on studying the effect of process parameter on kerf width in Wire EDM using molybdenum wire electrode. Pulse on time, pulse off time, Servo voltage and wire feed were selected as a process parameter for design the DoE in Response Surface Methodology. It was observed that electrical parameters chosen had a significant impact on the Kerf Width. Pulse on time is the most important electrical characteristic for Kerf Width. Higher duration of the spark causes the job to shift dimensions. Utilizing Design Expert's point prediction functionality, model validation was carried out.
Studio-quality video cassette recorders used for editing need intraframe compression schemes that can compress/decompress an image many times without appreciable degradation. They also require fast-forward playback of a low-quality image using only a small part of the compressed data. A system with these features is reported, based on image segmentation. A segmented approximation to the original image is losslessly encoded and a residual image is created. The lossless coding scheme is motivated by examining the constraints caused by channel errors and trick play modes. The residual image is coded by a conventional data compression technique. By preserving the main image features with a lossless code, the multi-generation performance is stabilized. Because segmentation is shift-invariant, edits that include x-y shifting between generations do not degrade performance. This paper reports a new segmentation algorithm. It has high resolution, obtained in part by a newly designed edgeness measurement. Using this, images are segmented to pixel accuracy by an algorithm which is only O[n] in complexity. Multi-generation simulations of sequences with 4: 1 compression ratios are presented at both normal and shuttle speeds, using both sub-band and DCT residual coders.Graph processing (3 passes) ates in four successive passes. The first pass, pix SOLE, processes a pixel image to produce output in the form of a "mosaic" image; i.e., irregular regions of constant color. The mosaic output of pix SOLE could be subtracted to create a residual, but SPIE Vol. 2186 Image and Video Compression (1994)! 259 Downloaded From: http://proceedings.spiedigitallibrary.org/ on 06/27/2016 Terms of Use: http://spiedigitallibrary.org/ss/TermsOfUse.aspx
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
