The thermal and catalytic cracking of several plastic
wastes (polypropylene, polystyrene,
polystyrene−polybutadiene) dissolved in refinery LCO has been studied
in a riser simulator,
under operating conditions (catalyst, temperature, contact time, C/O
ratio) that are similar to
commercial FCC units. The results of the product distribution show
the interest of this strategy,
which may be integrated into refinery operation for large-scale
tertiary exploitation of plastic
wastes.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
