These results suggest that elective colon and rectal surgery may be safely performed without mechanical preparation.

In this series, laparoscopic cholecystectomy was feasible under epidural anesthesia and it eliminated the need for postoperative analgesia. We believe that this approach should be considered for patients who require biliary surgery but who are not good candidates for general anesthesia due to cardiorespiratory problems.

Laparoscopic intraperitoneal approach to postoperative ventral (incisional) hernia repair may be associated with significant complications and morbidity, which can be prevented in part by meticulous technique and liberal conversions.
