RESUMENSe evaluó el manejo de 13 pacientes con mastitis granulomatosa idiopática y mastitis de células plasmáticas, tratadas en el Hospital Félix Bulnes, por un período de tres años. Se estudió la relación con la edad, anticoncepción, embarazo, lactancia y la atopia. Se evaluaron las limitaciones de la mamografía y de la ecotomografía mamaria y el uso de la biopsia trucut. Se compararon los resultados del tratamiento médico y quirúrgico.PALABRAS CLAVES: Mastitis granulomatosa, mastitis de células plasmáticas SUMMARY 13 patients with granulomatous mastitis and plasmatic cell mastitis were studied in Felix Bulnes Hospital, for a period of 3 years. We studied it's relation with age, contraception, pregnancy, breastfeeding and atopy. The limitation of the mammography and the mammary ultrasound, as well as the trucut biopsy was evaluated. The results between the medical and surgical treatment were compared.
