A dig conducted in 2014 by the Inrap in Ahuy, in the Côte-d’Or department, unearthed a prime habitat on the southern edge of the old village. This habitat developed between the 11th and late 18th century. The first house was made out of wood and partially stood above a dug out cellar. In the 13th century, a new house was built. Discovery of the semi-underground pantry revealed plenty of furniture, proving the wealth of the property owner. The site underwent a considerable transformation at the beginning of the Modern Era : certain buildings were demolished, others rebuilt and the lower levels were filled in and levelled. Two large courtyards then emerged to the north of a new building, standing on the site of the former 11th century house. During the French Revolution, this domain was sold as a national asset and was partially demolished.
