Introduction: The spread of HIV/AIDS in the elderly population is already characterized as a serious public health problem, requiring the development of actions and strategies to reduce the vulnerability of these individuals. Objective: Identifying the knowledge of older people about HIV/ AIDS. Method: This is an exploratory-descriptive study of a qualitative approach, developed with 26 elderly enrolled in three Family Health Strategies of the city of Cajazeiras, Paraiba, Brazil. Data were collected through interviews with a structured questionnaire and analyzed according to the Content Analysis Technique proposed by Bardin. Results: Participants were 26 elderly, most of whom were women belonging to the age group of 60-69 years old and married. From the analysis of the speeches of the participants emerged the theme category Knowledge about HIV/AIDS, with the following subcategories: Definition, Sources of Information, Treatment and Prognosis. Conclusion: It showed that many seniors have relevant knowledge about the disease; however, most of this is insufficient or surrounded by the mystification of knowledge rooted in the popular daily life.
Objetivo: Identificar os principais cuidados de enfermagem relacionados à prevenção de prolapso em ostomias intestinais. Metodologia: Trata-se de uma revisão integrativa, utilizando as bases de dados Literatura Latino-americana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde (LILACS), Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO), Base de Dados de Enfermagem (BDENF), Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System On-line (PubMed/MedLine) e Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature (CINAHL), nos idiomas português, inglês e espanhol, publicados entre 2011 e 2020. Após a busca na literatura científica, foram selecionados vinte e dois estudos para análise sobre os cuidados relacionados à prevenção do prolapso. Resultados: A demarcação do estoma, a educação pré-operatória, o acompanhamento telefônico educacional de suporte pós-alta realizado pela estomaterapeuta foram apontados como cuidados e/ou estratégias para prevenção do prolapso. Conclusão: A demarcação cirúrgica prévia do estoma associada à educação pré-operatória e aos programas de educação e/ou intervenção voltados para o gerenciamento da ostomia no pós-operatório podem ser consideradas importantes tecnologias de cuidado capazes de prevenir o prolapso em ostomias intestinais. Todavia, a realização da demarcação ainda carece de evidências científicas mais robustas, tendo em vista que sua prática ainda não é efetivada, em larga escala, no âmbito internacional.
Introduction: Adolescence is a stage is which several transformations occur in the individual's body, besides being the period of greatest vulnerability to Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI), especially HIV/ AIDS, as sexuality and the search for pleasure are salient features of the adolescent individuals. Objective: Identify the sources of information about STI/HIV/AIDS used by adolescent students. Method: This is an exploratory, descriptive and transversal field study, with a quantitative approach, carried out in a public high school, located in the urban area of the municipality of Cajazeiras/PB, with 188 adolescents of a population base of 288 students, between the months of February and March 2015. The data was collected during the school term period, by means of a previously elaborated questionnaire, and analyzed with the SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Science) for Windows, version 21. Results: 188 adolescents took part in this study, of whom the majority was composed of the female individuals, aged between 17 and 19 years, self-declared black or brown-skinned , without a partner , catholic, with a family income of up to a minimum salary and who
