We investigate elliptic flow in heavy ion collisions at intermediate energies. In doing this, we implement and use a lattice-Hamiltonian model of the nuclear interaction and we also study the effect of in-medium nucleon-nucleon cross sections that follow consistently from the momentumdependence of the nuclear mean field.
We formulate a Lattice Hamiltonian approach for the modeling of intermediate energy heavy ion collisions. After verifying stationary ground state solutions, we implement this in a calculation of nuclear stopping power and compare our results with experimental data. Our findings support a relatively soft nuclear equation of state, with a momentum-dependent self-consistent mean field.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
