One crucial thing in environmental learning is how gender-based media is not yet used optimally to improve concept understanding in the classroom. Students will not develop pro-environmental concerns and behavior if they do not understand pollution and environmental issue. This study aims to prove the influence of learning media and gender on understanding environmental pollution concepts in a Secondary High School in Jakarta, Indonesia. The method used is an experiment with a 2 x 2 factorial design. The sample is taken based on the stratified random sampling technique that consists of 40 students with 20 males and 20 females from two Senior High Schools in Jakarta, Indonesia. The instrument used in this study was 32 multiple choice questions to measure students' understanding, consisting of translating, interpreting, and extrapolating dimensions. The data analysis interpretation shows an interaction effect between learning media and gender on understanding the environmental pollution concept. Therefore, this study recommends that teachers use various media such as caricatures and comics that are proven usable to accommodate gender differences and enhance conceptual understanding in the classroom.
Perkembangan Sains dan teknologi dewasa ini menuntut manusia terus berkembang menyesuaikan diri dalam segala aspek kehidupan. Salah satu aspeknya adalah aspek pendidikan yang sangat menentukan maju dan mundurnya suatu bangsa. Pendidikan sains memiliki peran yang penting dalam menyiapkan anak bangsa memasuki dunia kehidupannya. Pendidikan sains memiliki peranan strategis dalam menyiapkan sumber daya manusia yang berkualitas untuk menghadapi era globalisasi ini. Potensi ini akan dapat terwujud jika pendidikan sains mampu melahirkan siswa yang cakap dalam bidangnya dan berhasil menumbuhkan kemampuan berpikir logis, berpikir kreatif, kemampuan memecahkan masalah, bersifat kritis, menguasai teknologi serta adaptif terhadap perubahan dan perkembangan zaman. Literasi sains merupakan tolak ukur keberhasilan pembelajaran sains di sekolah. Dalam proses pencapaian itu diperlukan bahan ajar yang mengedepankan aspek proses seperti body of knowledge, way of think, way of investigating, interaction of social science and technologi. Dengan mengedepankan aspek-aspek ini dalam buku pembelajaran sains, khususnya buku ajar biologi maka pembelajaran sains biologi di sekolah menjadi lebih baik.
The difficulty of entering the workforce requires the world of education to change the paradigm of thinking students from job-seeking cultures become job creators or entrepreneurs. Islamic boarding schools are educational institutions that can provide learning experiences directly to students or students. Islamic boarding school graduates do not all go to college and work immediately while the desire or interest of students for entrepreneurship is still very low. Islamic boarding schools must be able to equip students or santri by inserting learning activities with entrepreneurship education to equip them with skills. The purpose of this study was to determine the success of the implementation of learning innovations through biointpreneurship in increasing interest in entrepreneurship in Islamic boarding schools so as to inspire students to create their own work opportunities with skills in making biotech products in biology. This research is a research development (R & D). The development of learning is oriented towards making biotechnology products by adding entrepreneurial concepts and then experimenting with the experimental class. Data is taken by observation and questionnaire. Data testing techniques using t-paired samples test. The results showed that there was an increase in interest in entrepreneurship from before and after the application of learning with bioentrepreneurship.
The purpose of this research is to improve the skills of housewives Sawangan, Depok, in the use of waste cloth into brooches, necklaces, earrings, towels, and other accessories through community empowerment. Empowerment is a community effort to increase the capacity to prepare themselves through the provision of knowledge and skills. Stages empowerment counseling begins with awareness of the importance of taking wastewater to protect the environment and entrepreneurship motivation, followed by waste processing training, mentoring makes products to become independent, as well as promotional strategies. Through counseling and training, is expected to explore the potential that there is in the group of mothers in the household, so that it can generate income to the household economy, either as principal or as an additional revenue, as well as a provision for opening an independent business in the creative industries. If it is implemented properly and sustained, will indirectly assist in economic growth in both the domestic and regional levels in the District Sawangan.
The ability of a teacher to understand his or her competence greatly determines the success of his students, because students will develop if the teachers are able to develop themselves by increasing their professionalism. This research method used a quantitative approach with a sample of teachers at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Miftahul Falah Depok. The results of this study indicate that there is no positive and significant influence both activities to increase teacher professionalism and learning evaluation techniques on teacher performance at the Mifathul Falah Sawangan school, Depok.
