Durch Cyclisierung der Brom‐Derivate (I) zu den Hydroxychinolinen (II) und deren Methylierung mit Dimethylsulfat (III) in Anwesenheit von Kaliumcarbonat sind die Verbindungen (IV) zugänglich, die beim Kochen mit feinvertei1= ter Kupferbronze (V) in Diphenyläther in die Bis‐chinolyle (VI) übergehen.
