The author explores the operational capability of the European defense policy in the last 3 years. From the creation and adoption of the European Security Strategy, the European Union has made several specific steps in the development of the European Security and Defense Policy. Despite the disagreements with the United States about Iraq and the internal divisions in the "New and Old Europe" EU has shown the ability to set new military and civilian goals, make a small, but effective battle group concept for crisis management and conflict prevention as well as the European Defense Agency. The author also describes the main operations and missions of EU in the world, ranging from the Balkans and Africa to the Middle East and Eastern Asia. Finally, the paper analyses the Constitution for Europe and the articles concerning ESDP

According to the World Health Organization’s (WHO) global drowning report (2017), drowning is the third leading cause of unintentional injury death worldwide. Drowning can occur anywhere there is water: oceans, seas, lakes, pools, bathtubs, rivers or water collection on the side of the road, etc. In many countries, there are drowning prevention programs for children and adults. The two most commonly used strategiesagainst drowning are the presence of lifeguards in public places and the use of protected areas that could prevent most of the drownings. The main aim of the present study is to examine the individual differences in a Big Five plus Two (BF+2) personality traits in lifeguards and non-lifeguards (including students). The subsample of lifeguards represented 122 male respondents who were, at the time of the survey, licensed as lifeguards (60.9%) or were in training for lifeguards—candidates (39.1%). The subsample of students represented 138 male respondents who were studying at the University of Novi Sad. The results indicate that lifeguards in comparison to students are more extraverted, open to experience, and conscientious, less neurotic, and aggressive. Both positive and negative valence are higher in student subsample. All of the above traits are desirable traits for people working as lifeguards.

У овом чланку аутор описује и анализира европске интеграције Србије у последњих десет година. Аутор прво представља сам оквир и фазе Процеса стабилизације и придруживања које морају да пређу и сви остали кандидати за придруживање Европској унији. Потом анализира достигнућа Србије у поменутом Процесу кроз његове најважније инструменте, као што су: Споразум о стабилизацији и придруживању, претприступним финансијским фондовима, Европско партнерство те регионална сарадња. Посебан нагласак је стављен на анализу специфичних препрека Србије на путу европских интеграција. Та три проблема су: српско-црногорски однос унутар заједничке федерације/државне уније (СРЈ/СЦГ), (не)сарадња са Хашким судом и проблеми Србије по питању статуса Косова Кључне речи: Србија, европске интеграције, Споразум о стабилизацији придруживању, Косово, Хашки суд.
