Patients exposed to a surgical safety checklist experience better postoperative outcomes, but this could simply reflect wider quality of care in hospitals where checklist use is routine.

Depressed sinus node function is observed after conversion of chronic AF. Recovery from this abnormality and its independence from autonomic function suggest that AF remodels the sinus node. Our data do not support a causative role of sinus node function in AF recurrence, but they do indicate such a role for the density of atrial ectopic beats.

These data suggest that ERBB1-3 overexpression is not related only to smoking exposure but probably to epithelial remodelling and mucociliary system distortion, characterizing COPD. Additionally, the inverse correlation of ERBB4 with FEV1 exhibits a possible link between ERBB4 and COPD severity.

These data suggest but do not prove that the risk of SAB is increased in women with endometriosis. The epidemiological risk factors of endometriosis are not associated with an increase in the abortion rate.
