Recently, a new RNA virus from the Coronaviridae family was discovered, known as SARS-Cov-2. This virus causes pneumonia and inflammation in the body. One of the laboratory tests used to see inflammation in the body is the Neutrophil Lymphocyte Ratio, or often abbreviated as NLR. NLR is one of the markers of inflammation that can be used simply, efficiently, and reliably because of its high stability and sensitivity. Higher NLR values tend to lead to a severe and poor prognosis, so this test can be done by monitoring patients with confirmed Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). The purpose of this study was to determine the neutrophil lymphocyte’s ratio in COVID-19 patients receiving convalescent plasma therapy. This research method is a quantitative observation using a descriptive approach. Quantitative observational research is used to analyze data in the form of numbers from the results of laboratory tests. The results obtained from 17 research subjects, namely the NLR values before convalescent plasma therapy were obtained in as many as 6 patients (35%) with normal NLR values below 3.13 and NLR values are increasing above 3.13 in as many as 11 patients (65%). Meanwhile, after convalescent plasma therapy, there were 8 patients (47%) with normal NLR below 3.13 and NLR values increasing above 3.13 as many as 9 patients (53%). This research concerns about changes in NLR values before and after convalescent plasma therapy, which before convalescent plasma therapy there were 6 patients with normal NLR values and after convalescent plasma therapy increased to 8 patients with normal NLR values which indicate a better good prognosis.
ARTICLE INFODiabetic nephropathy is one of the leading causes of kidney failure and the highest mortality among all complications of diabetes mellitus (DM). Anemia is the most common complication in DM patients, especially when accompanied by nephropathy or renal disorders. The purpose of this study was to see the Profile of Anemia in Diabetes Mellitus Patients with Diabetic Nephropathy. The methods used are descriptive and observational. The research was conducted during the
Public health is a very important aspect to be considered in improving the welfare and progress of a country. Some of the health problems in childhood are stunting and nutritional imbalance. Conditions like this can have serious short-term impacts such as the risk of morbidity and mortality in infants and toddlers, medium-term impacts related to low intelligence and cognitive abilities, as well as long-term impacts related to the quality of human resources who experience degenerative disease disorders in the future. come. One of the efforts to avoid this is that the Health College Institution participates in providing knowledge to the community, especially elementary school children regarding school children's snacks. This activity was attended by 98 grade 5 and 6 students of SDN 1 Perampuan. The results obtained from these activities are that students understand and can distinguish between nutritious snacks and good for growth needs. In addition, students understand what will happen if they choose bad food with the ultimate goal of helping to improve people's lives, especially from the health aspect.
Hematological examination is very important and is often requested in several laboratories to determine the state of blood and its components. The purpose of this research is to find out the routine hematological description in patients infected with Covid-19 before and after administration of convalescent plasma therapy. The design of this study used a descriptive method with a sample population of patients infected with Covid-19 at Dr. Hospital. Wahidin Sudirohusodo. This study was followed by 17 subjects who met the inclusion criteria. Based on the results of the study, there were 6 patients who increased leukocyte examination before therapy and after therapy there were 7 patients. There were 2 patients who decreased erythrocyte examination before therapy and after therapy there were 4 patients. There were 3 patients who decreased hemoglobin before therapy and 6 patients after therapy. There was no change in the decreased hematocrit examination, namely 7 patients before and after therapy. Examination of decreased platelets before therapy there are 3 patients and after therapy 4 patients and increased platelets before therapy there are 2 patients and after therapy 3 patients. Neutrophil examination showed that there were no patients who decreased before therapy and there was 1 patient whose neutrophils decreased after therapy. For neutrophils that increased before therapy there were 9 patients and after therapy there were 7 patients. There were 10 patients who decreased lymphocyte examination before therapy and after therapy there were 9 patients. The conclusion was a change in the value of routine hematological parameters before and after convalescent plasma therapy in patients infected with Covid-19.
