Nine species of Coleoptera belonging to fi ve families (Ciidae, Melandryidae, Nitidulidae, Ptinidae, Staphylinidae) are recorded from Hungary for the fi rst time. Occurrences of Dacne pontica (Bedel, 1868) (Erotylidae) and Mycterus curculioides (Fabricius, 1781) (Mycteridae) in Hungary are confi rmed. With 16 fi gures.
The first records of two beetle (Coleoptera) species, Airaphilus perangustus Lindberg, 1943 (Silvanidae) and Nycteus hopffgarteni (Reitter, 1885) (Eucinetidae) from Hungary are reported.
Lyctus cavicollis LeConte, 1866 (Bostrichidae), Silvanus recticollis Reitter, 1876 (Silvanidae), Epuraea (Haptoncus) ocularis Fairmaire, 1849 (Nitidulidae) and Cynaeus angustus (J. L. LeConte, 1851) (Tenebrionidae) are reported from Hungary for the first time. With 4 figures.
A list of 300 species recorded from a planting of red oak (Quercus rubra) in Kétújfalu (Baranya county, Hungary; 10×10km UTM grid code YL09) is given. Five protected species (including two species of community interest listed in the Habitats Directive) were found. Fifty-five species are new to the area.
