Modern microwave communication system require stable and compact local oscillator source. This paper presents a low phase-noise frequency tripler, based on a pseudomorphic high electron-mobility technology, for 38GHz shortrange communication system. The multiplier exhibits a conversion loss of 3.4dB and an average phase noise degradation at 10kHz and lOOkHz offset-frequency from carrier of 9 ± 1dB.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
