Abstract

The study of linguistic landscapes is a way of identifying the relationships and tensions between different linguistic groups within the same locality. This article presents the experience of modifying the linguistic landscape of San Juan Bautista Cuicatlán, Oaxaca, through two interventions in the public space during 2019 and 2020. The modifications consisted on the placement of bilingual signage, in Cuicateco and Spanish, both on the streets and in public buildings.
