Eugammon of Cyrene, an early Greek poet of the Trojan Cycle (Davies 1989; Burgess 2001), was the author of Telegonia , an epic in two volumes in dactylic hexameter, already lost by the beginning of the sixth century CE (a quest for possible fragments: Bernabe 1987; Davies 1988; Livrea 1998) –to us, a real “poet without poetry” (Huxley 1960).

The nature of the sources of Greek and Roman law – what Greeks and Romans believed gave birth or authority to their laws – was, as in all legal cultures, determined by their political, social, and economic context and, consequently, changed over time.
