Gelatins has been widely used in food, medicines, cosmetics, photography industries. In the food industry, gelatin used as food additives and functional foods. The applications of gelatin as a functional food due to their bioactivity in a form of peptides. Bioactive peptides from gelatin are mostly obtained through enzymatic hydrolysis processes. This study was conducted to measure the hydroxyproline content of gelatin bone of Indonesian Pangasius catfish (Pangasius sutchi) before and after enzymatic hydrolysis. The hydroxyproline is one of the dominant amino acids in gelatin. Gelatin hydrolysis was carried out using a flavourzyme at concentration of 6% and the incubation series of 0, 4, 6 and 8 hours. The standard concentration of hydroxyproline was used in range of 0-1 μg. The results showed that the linear curve of the hydroxyproline standard solution was y=0.0554x+0.0406, with the coefficient of determination (R²) = 0.9435. The incubation time of enzymatic hydrolysis (6% enzyme concentration) affected the hydroxyproline content. The hydroxyproline from fish bone gelatin was 18.91±2.87 mg/mL, 63.81±1.28 mg/mL, 46.21±1.28 mg/mL and 37.64 ± 0.64 mg/mL respectively during 0, 4, 6 dan 8 h incubation time. This hydroxyproline content was significantly different at 95% confidence level from each treatment time.
Hiperlipidemia merupakan suatu keadaan patologis akibat kelainan metabolisme lipid yang ditandai dengan peningkatan fraksi lipid di dalam darah. Bunga pepaya mengandung senyawa yang mampu mempertahankan kadar kolesterol dalam batas normal karena mengandung senyawa flavanoid dan tanin yang berperan sebagai antioksidan. Pada penelitian ini digunakan tikus sebagai hewan coba untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian ekstrak bunga pepaya (Carica papaya L) terhadap kadar HDL dan LDL darah tikus yang diberi diet tinggi lemak. Penelitian ini menggunakan 25 ekor tikus Sprague dawley jantan berusia 12-16 minggu dengan berat 200-250 g, dengan pre and post test with control group design. Tikus dibagi menjadi 5 kelompok yaitu; kelompok tikus yang hanya diberi pakan standar (K), kelompok tikus yang diberi diet tinggi lemak (KN), kelompok tikus yang diberi diet tinggi lemak dan ekstrak bunga pepaya 31 mg/kgBB (P1), kelompok tikus yang diberi diet tinggi lemak dan ekstrak bunga pepaya 62 mg/kgBB (P2), dan kelompok tikus yang diberi diet tinggi lemak dan ekstrak bunga pepaya 125 mg/kgBB (P3). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian ekstrak bunga pepaya dengan dosis 31 mg/kgBB, 62 mg/kgBB dan 125 mg/kgBB mampu meningkatkan rerata kadar HDL dan menurunkan rerata kadar LDL darah tikus secara signifikan (p <0,05). Namun semakin besar dosis tidak berpengaruh terhadap kadar HDL dan LDL.
Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) is an acute infection of the upper or lower respiratory tract caused by a virus or bacteria that lasts for 14 days. In Indonesia ARI still a problem because of environmental factors and behavior. As mention in H.L Blum’s classical theory that environment is the most influenced factor for the health status. The physical environment of the house includes the condition of clean water facilities, the condition of latrines, and the area of ventilation. This research aims to find out the effect of the physical environment of the house on the incidence of ARI in children under five at Sungailiat Health Center for the period October - December 2020. This research is a type of correlational analytic survey research with a cross sectional design. The population in this study were 118 toddlers aged 12-59 months. The sample in this study was 60 toddlers who were taken using simple random sampling technique. The statistical test used the chi-square test using the SPSS version 23 program. The results showed that there was no relationship between the condition of clean water facilities (p = 0.115), latrine conditions (p = 0.389), room ventilation area (p = 0.109) and the incidence of ARI. So it can be concluded that there is no relationship between the physical environment of the house and the incidence of ARI in children under five.
Obesitas didefinisikan sebagai akumulasi lemak yang tidak normal atau berlebihan yang dapat mengganggu kesehatan. Obesitas terjadi karena adanya peningkatan kolesterol plasma, Low-Density Lipoprotein (LDL), trigliserida dan penurunan kadar High Density Lipoprotein (HDL) atau kombinasi dari beberapa abnormalitas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian ekstrak daun bayam merah (Amaranthus tricolor L.) terhadap indeks Lee dan massa lemak abdominal tubuh tikus putih wistar yang diinduksi diet tinggi lemak. Metode dalam penelitian ini adalah melakukan telaah artikel sesuai dengan issue yang akan diteliti. Dilakukan sesuai dengan analisis PICOST yaitu population, intervention, comparison, output, studi dan times dari 328 jurnal terpilih 6 jurnal. Literature dari 6 jurnal terdapat 2 jurnal yang membahas tentang ekstrak daun bayam merah (Amaranthus tricolor L.) (34%), 6 jurnal membahas diet tinggi lemak (100%), 1 jurnal membahas indeks Lee (50%) dan 1 jurnal membahas massa lemak abdominal (50%). Pemberian ekstrak daun bayam merah (Amaranthus tricolor L.) berpengaruh terhadap indeks Lee dan massa lemak abdominal tikus putih yang diinduksi diet tinggi lemak.
